Early Algebra for the Interactive Whiteboard

This interactive whiteboard application (Promethean, Mimio, etc.), intended for teachers of students in grades 1 – 3, focuses on the relational meaning of equality (CCSS 1.OA.7). Using objects and pictures, students combine like terms, evaluate expressions and determine the missing value to make two expressions equal (CCSS 1.OA.8). The program consists of eight lessons.

This application may also be used with a Windows PC for remote instruction.

Early Algebra for the Interactive Whiteboard

Evaluate 1: 2a + 3p if a = 5 and p = 10.
Example 2: Find the unknown value in 3a – a + 2p – p = 2a + ___
Example 3: 4 + __ + 5 = 10 – 2 + 3
