Early Algebra for the SMART Board

This SMART Board application, intended for teachers of gifted students in grades 1 – 3, focuses on the relational meaning of equality (CCSS 1.OA.7). Using objects and pictures, students combine like terms, evaluate expressions and determine the missing value to make two expressions equal (CCSS 1.OA.8). The program consists of a total of 8 lessons.

Early Algebra for the SMART Board

Evaluate 1: 2a + 3p if a = 5 and p = 10.
Example 2: Find the unknown value in 3a – a + 2p – p = 2a + ___
Example 3: 4 + __ + 5 = 10 – 2 + 3
